Karen C. Bland

Karen Bland attained her lifetime passion of oil painting beginning in 1991 while attending classes at Arlington Adult Education. Influenced by her 40-year career of interior design, travels, and love of nature, Karen’s realistic style of painting focuses on composition, balance of color, movement, and depth.

A native Washingtonian, Karen has displayed her work at various locations, including The Library of Congress, George Mason University, the Janice Gentry Gallery, Arlington, VA, the Gainesville, FL Art Fair, and the Arlington Central Library. She received the Annual Library of Congress Professional Association (LCPA) Employee Arts and Crafts Exhibit award of Featured Artist in Painting based on her work “Lily Along the Pathway”.
