Bobbi Wolcott

Growing up in Philadelphia, I spent most school holidays going to the Philadelphia Art Museum. I was drawn in by Marcel Duchamp’s “Nude Descending a Staircase”. There it was capturing movement in a 2-dimensional format. This was very intriguing to me. My work seeks to explore movement, as it also translates into capturing energy.

After studying art in my sojourns to Cyprus, Vienna, and Tokyo, and with 6 weeks studying with Pratt in Venice, I received my BFA from the Corcoran School of Art and Design. Since life itself is constantly changing, I find delight in trying to express this in my work using encaustic (hot wax), and monotypes (a one of a kind print), and working in mixed mediums.
